The legacy of Barney's Farm began in the 1980s when Derry traveled to the Himalayas for several years. There, he expanded his knowledge and collected historic landrace genetics unique to the region.

During this time, he worked alongside local farmers who had spent centuries carefully crossing and developing these genetic lines, preserving the finest strains from across Asia.

Driven by a vision to revolutionize cannabis breeding in the West, Derry planned to return to Amsterdam with his vast collection of unique genetics. His goal was to establish a breeding program that would combine these ancient Asian varieties with the finest strains Europe had to offer.
